Weather at the US Open
How will the conditions affect the US Open? Here’s the latest forecast from Pinehurst…
Will the weather be kind to the mixture of PGA Tour and LIV Golf players, as well as the spectators, for the US Open? Let’s take a look at the weather for the US Open in 2024…
Weather at the US Open
It looks like the sun will be bearing down on the players, caddies, fans, and everyone in the grounds at the Pinehurst Resort throughout US Open week.
Accuweather says that it will be very warm over the course of the tournament week, with highs in the mid 30s.
With no more than an 11 km/h wind across any of the four days of tournament play, the ‘RealFeel’ temperature could push 40 degrees Celsius on Saturday.
Saturday also features the highest chance of any rain, but it is still less than 20% according to the computers at Accuweather.
It’s going to be hot and dry, which is going to mean that the No.2 Course at the Pinehurst Resort is going to be very firm and bouncy throughout the week!

Pinehurst weather in May
Throughout the entirety of June, there are only a couple of days where Pinehurst will not be bathed in sunshine. Even then, the temperatures are still likely to rise above 30 degrees Celsius. The course is due for some rain, but the current forecast has that arriving on Monday, a day after the US Open finishes.
Sunrise and sunset
Currently, the average day in Louisville during May has just over 14 hours of daylight.
Throughout June, sunrise in Pinehurst is around 6am. Sunset will hover around the 8:30/8:40pm mark throughout the week of the tournament.

Matt got into the game of golf from a young age, following his old man to the local golf club. He fell for the sport, and now can’t seem to go a day without thinking about how to improve his game (Thanks Dad!). Matt has been a member of Howley Hall GC in Leeds since 2020, and is just about managing to maintain a single-figure handicap. He likes to remind people that he once broke 75, but won’t tell people that it was on a shortened course during the winter.
He moved to Leeds after graduating from the University of Central Lancashire with a First Class Honours degree in Sports Journalism. Matt joined NCG after almost five years travelling the world with the Professional Squash Association, working on events in all four corners of the globe.
Matt currently plays a Cobra King LTDx driver and RadSpeed 3-wood. TaylorMade monopolise the rest of his bag, with a SIM UDI, M5 irons and both Milled Grind and HI-TOE wedges, along with a Monza Redline putter. He uses a Vice Pro Plus golf ball, because he’s a bit different…
Away from golf, Matt is a Manchester United fan, and a keen runner, having ran the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon (his first and possibly last), in May 2023.
