Which LIV Golfers have earned spots at the Olympic Games?
There are six LIV Golf players in the final list of men’s golf competitors at the Olympic Games, but one of them isn’t Bryson DeChambeau.
The sheet for the men’s golf competition at the 2024 Olympic Games has been published and six LIV Golf players have made the grade.
Jon Rahm (Spain), Adrian Meronk (Poland), Joaquin Niemann (Chile), David Puig (Spain), Carlos Ortiz (Mexico), and Abraham Ancer (Mexico) will compete for the top of the podium in France later this summer.
This would mean that Spain and Mexico would be entirely represented by LIV Golfers who the PGA Tour has suspended for their decisions to join the Saudi-financed league.
Despite winning the US Open last week, Bryson DeChambeau lifted himself to 10th in the OWGR which wasn’t enough to claim a spot for the United States.
The men’s qualification period started on June 17, 2022 and concluded on June 17 following the US Open. The top 15 players in the Official World Rankings were automatically eligible to play at Le Golf National from August 1-4.

Men’s golf Olympics dominated by US players
Beyond the top 15, players were eligible based on the OWGR with a maximum of two eligible players from each country that didn’t already have two more players in the top 15.
Matthieu Pavon and Victor Perez will represent the home nation but it will come as no shock that four Americans will play for the gold medal in two months.
Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele, Wyndham Clark and Collin Morikawa will represent the USA as they are all ranked in the top 15 of the OWGR. Tommy Fleetwood and Matt Fitzpatrick will represent Great Britain.
Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry will represent Ireland. McIlroy lost in a playoff three years ago in Japan to surrender the bronze medal to C.T Pan of Chinese Taipei. 2024 PGA Championship winner Xander Schauffele took gold with a one-shot victory over Slovakia’s Rory Sabbatini at Kasumigaseki Country Club.
The International Golf Federation (IGF) will publish the finalised field list for the women’s golf tournament at the Olympic Games on Tuesday, July 2. The list will be decided following the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship.
To no one’s surprise, Nelly Korda won the gold medal three years ago in the women’s competition. Mone Inami of Japan came second and Lydia Ko of New Zealand came third.
