Choosing the right trolley can be just as tough as selecting your next club purchase. The market for golf trolleys is a lot more extensive than in years gone by. Sun Mountain may have just made that choice a little bit easier with the Ridgline3.

The brand, known for their premium bags and push trolley, have released ‘a first-of-its-kind adjustable three-wheel push trolley’. But, what makes it an industry first? And, how good is this new push trolley?

Let’s take a look…

Sun Mountain Ridgeline 3 Trolley Review: NCG Summary

5 star review
NCG SUMMARY

Plainly put, this is a brilliant push golf trolley. It has everything you’d need from a trolley and more. The highlight is of course the adjustability to be able to fit any and all golf bags on it.

Additionally, it is straight forward and simple to fold and unfold into a compact shape. I also found it extremely suitable to use over different terrains and undulations of a golf course.

Having this Sun Mountain Ridgeline 3 trolley means you may never need another trolley again. Your golf bag certainly won’t outgrow it.

Sun Mountain Ridgeline 3 Trolley Review: First Impressions

I was actually introduced to the Sun Mountain Ridgeline 3 trolley in Berlin, Germany. Initially, I was struck by how small the trolley was when it was folded up. It’s something important to think about when buying a golf trolley, as transportation and storage can be a massive problem.

Although I didn’t transport the trolley, I’m confident it would fit into most cars’ boots without any major issues.

The trolley is completely user-friendly to everyone. It might have a lot of technology used in the construction of it, but you won’t need an engineering degree to be able to construct it. Two simple steps is all it takes to fold and unfold the trolley.

Aesthetically, it looks sleek, smart, professional, and I like how there is some added colour for vibrancy. Classy, but not dull.

I tested out the hunter/sand coloured trolley, but with five other colours available, there’s a choice for everyone. The hunter/sand colour was a good fit for me, it was tasteful and wasn’t overly flashy.

The big draw and feature of the Sun Mountain Ridgeline 3 trolley has to be its adjustable bracket for the ultimate fit. I have to say, this worked a treat.

The bracket moves up and down to accommodate different golf bag sizes. This allows it to differ from other push trolleys, as this isn’t one that is age dependant. A brilliant design that allows big adult sized caddy bags to used on the trolley as well as junior bags. It really is a golf trolley for everyone.

For me personal, it’s an extremely useful feature. I often use different sizes of bags, for convenience, car space, things like that. So this is ideal in having that option of being able to use different types of golf bags on the same trolley. If you want to have the option of being able to use your carry bag on a trolley and not have to invest in a cart bag, then this is your problem solver.

Out in Germany, I used a standard cart bag on the push trolley, which fit like a glove. I found it easy to set for the size of bag I was using, and the adjustable bracket meant that it felt more secure on the trolley than any other push trolley I have used previously.

As for performance and functionality, I saw no cause for complaint. Sun Mountain’s Anti-Tip Technology is included in the Ridgeline3. In short, this means the trolley should give you no problems to push around different types of golf courses, and it didn’t for me.

Additionally, it also has something the brand calls an Easy Access Brake Lever. Which, in effect, helps the trolley to be secure on undulations and slopes.

The trolley is also compatible with Sun Mountain’s accessory range, so you can add an umbrella holder or other features if you wish.

Sun Mountain Ridgeline3 Trolley Review: Final thoughts

All in all, I found this to be a very straightforward trolley to use, and it was a joy to test. It extensively provided me with all the key benefits that I have mentioned, but most importantly it did what a golf trolley is supposed to do, in my opinion. Help make your round of golf simpler, more enjoyable and less of a stress.

Some push golf trolleys can feel a bit awkward and heavyweight to move around a golf course. I didn’t feel that at all with the Ridgeline3. I felt was then, for better or worse, able to enjoy my round of golf in Germany marred only by my own golf game.

For someone who wants the assistance of a trolley but doesn’t feel the need to go for an electric one, then this will do for all golfing occasions and hopefully for many years to come.
