Skechers GO GOLF Blade GF Slip-ins Golf Shoe Review: NCG Summary

NCG SUMMARY
A brand known for the comfort of their shoes have produced a great performing golf shoe that builds on that reputation.
PROS
- Supremely comfortable
- Waterproof
- Modern athletic looks
CONS
- Design might not be for everyone
First Impressions
Full disclosure, my everyday shoes are Skechers and I have a couple of pairs. They are supremely comfortable and the slip-ins are particularly convenient. As a consequence, my expectation for the comfort of their golf shoes was pretty high. First impressions of their appearance were good. They are in the modern athletic mould and certainly look comfortable.

The tech is what one might expect from this type of shoe. They are 100% waterproof (with a 1 year waterproof warranty) , feature hands-free slip-in and are designed with Skechers’ exclusive Heel Pillow™. They have a synthetic upper with front laces, a lightweight Resamax® insole, ECO FLIGHT™ cushioning, and a GRIPFLEX™ spikeless outsole for enhanced traction.

On, they are predictably very comfortable. The Slip-in heel works well. They are reassuringly solid and provided good support in all directions. It has been very dry so I gave them a drench with a garden hose and I can attest they are indeed waterproof.
On Course Testing
On the course they were a joy to walk in, providing a good balance of support and comfort. I really liked the soles as they had superb traction. Some spikeless designs can look like they may be left wanting in really wet conditions but not so with these and I suspect they will perform as well as any spiked sole. This makes them a potential all-year shoe.

When swinging there was excellent support. There are many shoes now available where the technology and design have produced shoes with great comfort and performance. The Skechers GO Golf Blade Slip-ins are no exception. Due to the DNA of Skechers, I had some concerns that these shoes may have prioritised comfort over performance. These concerns proved unfounded and I was mightily impressed with these shoes. If you are in the market for a new pair of golf shoes definitely check these out. I do not think you will be disappointed.

The only negative I can say about these shoe are the design on the inside of the shoes – there is a large SKX logo – which might not be to everyone’s liking. However, this does not detract from the quality and comfort of the shoe, is just a personal thing that might put people off. But at £99 for them in black from American Golf (at the time of writing) they are a real bargain.
