NCG SUMMARY

The Greg Norman Bandit waterproof spikeless shoes are a great fit for both on-course use, mixed in with casual wear.

They are a lightweight trainer-styled golf shoe, that looks great and feels it too. Comfortable to wear and practical to use playing golf.

I do think they are a little lightweight for more extreme weather, but they battled well against the windy and mildly wet conditions

PROS

  • Ideal for off-course use
  • Love the sneaker-style design
  • Warm, comfortable and sturdy

CONS

  • A little lightweight for more extreme conditions

Greg Norman Bandit Golf Shoes Review: First Impressions

This golf shoe is very much my go-to style of golf shoe. I have always been drawn to a more trainer-like and casual style of golf attire, in particular shoes.

They aren’t anything overly extravagant to look, which I like and appreciate. Firmly, a simplistic style that can be match with loads of different golf outfit variations, so they aren’t dependent on what style you typically wear.

It’s very easy to do what I nearly did and mistake them for trainers, which is a compliment to their looks and performance benefits. I should imagine that all age demographics will be able to enjoy these shoes, they aren’t too rigid to put younger golfers off, and they aren’t too out there for those prefer a more traditional styling.

Although they are very much a trainer golf shoe, they still have a classic look to them that you sometimes don’t get with other similarly styled shoes. They look as if they belong on the golf course. You won’t get any funny looks wearing these.

On Course Testing

As far as on course suitability goes, I found these shoes to be fantastic. They offered great comfortability and are true to size. There’s no need to size up or down at all, save having to mess around with your usual choice.

Whilst looking like an everyday trainer shoe, they also have the traits of one as well. For those who consider performance benefits, then, these shoes felt extremely lightweight on the feet and weren’t much of a burden to trail around a course in. This also benefits the comfortability of them, which as I say was unproblematic.

The waterproofing was suitable, and my feet were kept dry and warm throughout the day.

I also had no issues with stability. Some may still perceive spikeless golf shoes to be less sturdy, and that may be true during the heavy winter months, but with modern technologies they feel just as safe when swinging. These shoes were the same, I felt comfortable swinging hard in them.

However, I would not that, despite their waterproofing, they may seem a bit light to wear during heavier rainfall. I can understand that some people prefer spiked shoes, especially during water weather, just for that extra security.

Overall, I was very pleased with these Greg Norman golf shoes. A smartly designed trainer-like golf shoe that offers great comfort and waterproofing. They are also very versatile in their use, can easily see myself wearing these as trainers socially and away from the course.

19th Hole

These golf shoes are absolutely something that you’d be able to wear out and about this winter. Their trainer-like style makes them an ideal for social occasions. When I took them out of the box I thought I had been sent the wrong package, these Greg Norman shoes don’t visually resemble your typical golf shoe.

For me, that’s absolutely fine. They are warm and sturdy enough for the winter months ahead to be used as a casual shoe.

Being spikeless, they are also ideal for indoor clubhouse use. No need to change your shoes straight after a round.

All things consider, including the extremely reasonable price, I think these are a great option for those who don’t want to splash out so heavily on golf shoes.

But, for a lower price, you won’t be sacrificing quality. They performed great throughout testing, and they were good at keeping my feet warm and dry during some fairly poor weather conditions. As far as versatile and multipurpose golf shoes go, these rank pretty high in my opinion.
