FitVille was founded in Texas (USA) in 2018 by James D. Kual. He is a runner rather than a golfer and he found it difficult to find footwear that fitted. So he and his team set about designing footwear that adhered to three core concepts- namely therapeutic, comfort and support technology.

A quick look at the website shows that FitVille makes footwear not only for golfers, but also runners, hikers and walkers. The brand offers no less than five different golf shoes for men.

Here we test the FitVille SpeedEx V4 model with an RRP of £65.90 / $80.

FitVille’s SpeedEx V4 golf shoes offer excellent comfort, support, and waterproof performance, making them ideal for wider feet and autumn/winter golf.

While they lack modern style, their durability and stability make them a practical choice, especially in wet weather and wintery conditions.

Overall, they provide great value for golfers seeking comfort and reliability.

First Impressions

FitVille are not a brand that I was aware of when asked to review their latest golf shoe but following some research it became clear that had a pedigree in the outdoors market and so I was intrigued to see what their golf products were like.

Upon opening the ‘Liberate Your Toes’ box the shoes looked rather ‘clunky’ but were obviously well made and looked like they would perform well when ground conditions were challenging.

On Course Testing

The FitVille SpeedEx shoes are in all fairness not going to turn any heads when you walk on to the first tee but they will get you there in comfort. They are ideal for those with wider feet with great insoles and excellent padding around the ankle for increased stability.

FitVille SpeedEx Golf Shoe V4 review

There is no need to break the shoes in and they are comfortable straight out of the box. The moulded cleats give excellent traction and would suit anyone looking for additional comfort and support.

The shoes I tested were Charcoal Grey but they are also available in a white / navy edition.

Whilst I would say I have wider than average feet, the FitVille style gives lots of room and I needed to wear a pair of thick socks to prevent my feet from moving in the shoe itself. So, for those with wide feet these could be the ideal choice – especially there is an extra wide option in the white/navy colour.

With rain back on the weather forecast and damp conditions under foot, it was a good day to test their waterproof ability and they didn’t disappoint. I could tell that these would be fantastic in winter conditions when the ground is heavier.

After the round my feet were dry and comfortable, with no tiredness at all. These are great value for money and will definitely be used throughout the winter.

NCG Verdict

The FitVille SpeedEx V4 is a really practical shoe. They perform well, especially in the wet , and are a must for those with orthopaedic conditions.

They are at a fantastic price point, but their style falls short when compared with the better known brands.

That being said, style does not always deliver comfort and when it comes to comfort and price these are hard to beat.
