Sausage might not be a name you’ve ever heard in the golfing world. They’re a new company whose designer, wanted to create a product for his dad but didn’t know what to make. Former Super Yacht designer Dave Rowles, created the most adaptable putter on the market. It has some pretty interesting customisation features – but how does it perform? Check out our full Sausage Golf Boudin Noir putter review below to find out…

NCG Summary

4 star review
NCG SUMMARY

This might to be the most adaptable putter on the market. Using the screws at the base of the head you can move the shaft around to create a face balance, toe hang or zero torque putter.

Whilst this is an interesting concept, making the moves isn’t a quick process nor does it come at a friendly price.

It’s great for players that regularly get the itch to switch putter style.

PROS

  • Very versatile
  • Great for left or right handed players
  • Sits nice behind the ball

CONS

  • Fiddly to unscrew/change shaft position
  • Premium price
  • $519

First Impressions

The concept behind this putter is interesting but taking it out of its head cover for the first time you probably wouldn’t know it was any different to any other putter. The top of the putter is very simple, there isn’t too much going on in terms of alignment.

Sausage Golf Boudin Noir Putter Review

The underneath of this putter begins to reveal what this putter can do. There is six screws that secure in place the weights and shaft.

I really liked is the small sausage detail on the back of the putter. I think this a great custom touch.

NCG Verdict

As I was explaining this putter to a friend, they said ‘oh so it’s a lego putter, you can build it how you like’. I quite liked this analogy, you really can change the design to suit you.

Sausage Golf Boudin Noir Putter Review

This putter arrived as a centre shaft, zero torque putter. Sausage send the putter with a wrench so that you can alter it. I had a go at moving all the pieces around, moving between zero torque, face balance and toe hang. This took quite a bit of screwing and unscrewing. At times I couldn’t get the screws back in or out, so it’s not a quick process. However, chances are you wouldn’t be altering on a regular basis.

Sausage Golf Boudin Noir Putter

In terms of moving around, I think it’s really interesting that you can use this putter as a left or right handed golfer. It’s great that this is a product to fit all player requirements.

Out on the course, you wouldn’t think there was anything different. It produced a crisp sound with a pure roll. I’m usually a fan of a bigger alignment system so this one was a bit minimal for me but still I enjoyed using it.

NCG Verdict

Overall, this putter has a really interesting concept. It’s great if you’re a golfer who regularly tinker with your equipment. But, it does come with a premium price.
