NCG SUMMARY
The Velocity is one of Titleist’s two piece ionomer-covered golf balls. It is for players looking for more height and distance in their game.
They’re great for any beginner or mid to high handicap golfer wanting something softer off the face that’s still going to have a strong flight and carry – or a great winter ball for players wanting a little more give.
PROS
- Soft feeling off the face
- Low spinning with irons and woods
- Great value
CONS
- Low spin with wedges
First Impressions
The packaging of the 2026 Velocity looks very familiar. I think this is nice as it’s easy to identify as each ball in the Titleist line up has it’s own colourway in terms of packaging and ball design. Which is exactly what continues with the orange ‘Velocity’ wording on the ball and numbering.

The Velocity is one of Titleist’s two piece ionomer-covered golf balls. As per the information, it is for players looking for more height and distance in their game.
If you fancy a little extra colour these balls do also come in a green or yellow colourway.
NCG Review
It’s been a while since I got to hit a Velocity and so I was interested to see how it performed. I tested it both on the course and at an indoor studio using a SkyTrak launch monitor to gather data.
Starting with my 58°, the Velocity felt great off the face. I’m a player who tends to use a ProV1x but I do enjoy a ball that has a soft feel off the face, especially in the colder months! As you would expect this is not a high spinning golf ball. Spinning at an average of 5522RPM it’s a far cry from the 7000+RPM you see with premium balls but designed for mid to higher handicap players, low spin with wedges is not a big issue.

In terms of consistency, the Velocity’s numbers were very tight knit which is great.
Moving onto 7 iron, Titleist states that the Velocity is low spinning in this area and it did as promised. I was really happy with the carry numbers given the current cold climate and they felt really nice and easy to get in the air. Height of the shots was good and very consistent again.

With driver the Velocity performed well. The spin was low and the carry distance was pretty good. I was quite happy with these numbers and it didn’t feel like I had to work hard to get them, it came off the face nice and easily.

NCG Verdict
Overall, I really enjoyed using the Titleist Velocity.
I think this is a great golf ball for any beginner or mid to high handicap player who needs something a little softer or even great as a winter ball.
For just less than £30 the 2026 Velocity is a great purchase.
