First Impressions

To start with, I really like the design of the bag. All black with subtle red Stewart branding points around the bag. I personally like the black, doesn’t mark easily and looks really smart. The material is actually tour-grade synthetic leather which makes a real difference, even picking the bag out of the box you can tell the high quality of the item. It also comes with a built-in rain cover, which is from the same material, and attaches easily and quickly for those impromptu showers.

On course performance

The testing took place in quite thorough conditions. A quick twilight round followed by my participation in Prostate Cancer’s 100 hole challenge across a day (still recovering). Admittedly not realising at the time, but in hindsight this is actually a very good way of testing this sort of product with storage and usability features being a constant requirement.

The storage of the bag is really impressive, with nine individual pockets which includes two plush velour-lined valuables pockets, large Insulated front pocket and a magnetic front pocket there is ample room for everything you need.

Throughout the 100 holes it really made the day easier, the storage was great for carrying an abundance of clothing for the mixture of weather, water, food and many, many balls. Other features included easy lift carry handles, padded shoulder strap/ holster, and a full-length umbrella shield which made for easy transportation in and out of the car and storage of the umbrella without cramming it in with your clubs.

Perhaps the only downside is the bag is best used on a Stewart trolley as opposed to any other brand. This is of course great if you currently own a Stewart trolley, however if you are using another brand it may not fit too snug due to the keyed base of the bag fitting nicely into the Stewart Q Follow or VERTYX remote.

NCG Verdict

Overall, Stewart have created a great product in the Nero 2 Cart Bag. Looks extremely smart, plenty of storage, and useable all year around. If you are on the look out for an upgrade, I would certainly suggest taking a look at Stewart Golf’s website for bags and their impressive array of trolleys. It certainly made my life easier for a whole lot of golf played in the day.
