Women in Golf Awards find new home at Foxhills

The prestigious Foxhills resort has been confirmed as the new host of the ceremony that celebrates the role women play in the golf industry

The third annual Women in Golf Awards will take place at Surrey’s prestigious Foxhills Country Club & Resort in November – after organisers found a new home and etched a new date into the calendar.

The progressive venue has a number of initiatives in place supporting women in golf and, by switching to a November 28 date and opting for a larger venue, more people will now be able to go to the must-attend event.

Last year’s Awards were held at Walton Heath and co-founder Nicole Wheatley believes Foxhills will be a perfect new partner.

“After a wonderful event last year, we were keen to find a host venue that shares similar values to our own,” she said.

“The team at Foxhills have been incredibly engaged and excited about the awards since our very first conversation.

“We know how much this event means to the attendees, nominees and our partners, and I am confident that we will create something very special together.”

The Women in Golf Awards celebrates the significant contribution that women, past and present, continue to make to the golf industry.

They bring together women at all stages of their careers, from every sector, showing the diverse nature of the roles women hold in the industry.

Women in Golf Awards: “We are beyond thrilled to be able to host”

Burnham and Berrow, Loch Lomond’s Amanda Dorans and Close House PGA pro Sally Hinton were among the winners last August when more than 100 people came together on an inspirational evening.

This time, as in previous years and thanks to the Women in Golf Fund which is supported by the Awards partners, a number of free tickets will be available to women working in the industry.

These will be allocated through a ballot at the Women in Golf Awards website.

And there will also be a limited number of heavily subsidised tickets to buy later in the year.

The 2024 sponsors and award categories will be announced at the end of July and nominations will open from the middle of August.

Marcus Weatherburn, Foxhills membership manager, said: “We’re beyond thrilled to be able to host the annual Women in Golf Awards.

“As a club we currently have several fantastic initiatives running to encourage female golfers to start the game, to progress, learn and develop and to be able to perform at the highest level across the world.

“We are also incredibly proud to support our female staff in their careers. Our Country Club model really is a unique environment – we’re pleased of where we are as a club to date, but the hard work will continue.”

England Golf have already signed up as a partner and chief executive Jeremy Tomlinson added: “We are really excited to be supporting the Women in Golf Awards again, this event is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate women in golf trailblazers!”
