DAVID BLAIR GOLF SCHOOLS
Blair was born in Glasgow in 1956 and has been a PGA Professional for 25 years. He has spent many years developing his ideas and believes passionately that there is one correct golf swing, which everyone can understand and learn. Just think for a moment. Although we all look different, our joints and muscles work the same way. To hit the golf ball long and straight requires club head speed and control, and we can only do this one way for maximum efficiency. Simple physics tells us any deviation will result in the loss of distance and/or accuracy. All tour players are very close to the correct movement. They may have their own idiosyncrasies, usually on the back swing, but when you see photos of them at or around impact, they all look the same. If good players look the same at this point in the swing, then it goes without saying that they must all be moving in the same way. This is because the long narrow triangle formed between the arms and shoulders has not distorted through the swing, i.e. it has not been used as a power source. Any attempt to hit from this part of the body \"the effort zone\" will slow the club head down and at the same time pull it off line.
Swing Fundamentals Two Movements, One Connection
The golf swing can be most simply described as having three fundamental components:
Two energy-producing movements The body turn The wrist hinge and The control area or \"connection\" The long narrow triangle formed between the arms and shoulders
In other words the arms are the connection between the body turn and the wrist hinge, and quite simply the more passive the triangle the better the player.
David believes that golfers of all standards can reach their potential by understanding and learning the correct golf swing, and the Swing Build Programme has been developed following extensive research as an easy to understand, simple to learn approach to building the correct golf swing.
David has his own \"Swing Build Golf\" programme on The Golf Channel UK and also appeared on \"Get Ready for Golf\" and \"Golf International\".
During 2000 and 2001 he appeared on South African television with Dale Hayes PGA, former winner of the European Tour Order of Merit.
David has produced the videos \"˜The Perfect Swing\" and \"The Universal Golf System\", and a new interactive DVD and Workbook \"The Secret of Golf\" was released last year.
David has contributed to numerous golf publications including National Club Golfer, Golf International, Golf Punk, UK Golfer, Today\'s Golfer, Midlands Golfer, Compleat Golfer in South Africa, Svensk Golf in Sweden and Norsk Golf in Norway.
