Tiger's niece signs with Nike
21-year old Cheyenne is looking to emulate her uncle’s golfing achievements
Nike Golf have signed yet another highly promising youngster with the Woods surname.
Cheyenne Woods, niece of multi-major winning Tiger, has taken the first step to following in her uncle’s footsteps after signing a multi-year sponsorship agreement with the company that has supported the former World No 1 through thick and thin.
The youngster began her professional career at the Wegman’s LGPA Championship last week, using Nike equipment and apparel.
After a highly successful amateur career, Woods made the decision to turn professional following graduation from Wake Forest University, having won more than 30 amateur trophies.
On the decision to turn to the professional game, she commented: "Now that I am solely focused on golf, I am eager and ready to make this my career."
Commenting on her new sponsors the 21-year-old went on to add: “Watching Tiger, I have grown up loving the brand and I am thrilled to be a part of the Nike Golf family.”
Woods has qualified for in the 2012 US Women’s Open as she looks to strengthen her professional credentials before heading to LPGA Q-School later in the year.
