CALLAWAY have released two multi-layer premium balls for the new season.
The Tour i(s) was created as a direct reaction to the new groove rule that has just been implemented by the game's governing bodies. To counteract the lower levels of spin the new grooves generate, this four-piece model features the softest cover Callaway have ever created as well as new Dual Core inertia technology that maximises spin with shorter clubs, but limits it off the tee.
The Tour i(z) is all about distance. It also has four layers and features an aerodynamic dimple pattern as well as a Dual Core that offers ultimate ball speed and distance. It is certainly not without feel, though, thanks to a soft urethane cover that still ensures you can stop it with the best of them.
Both balls are already proving immensely popular on tour, in particular the i(s), which Ernie Els described as 'unbelievable'.
