Sam Burns Valspar golf betting tips

Valspar Championship & Singapore Classic Golf Betting Tips

Following an incredible week at The Players Championship, the PGA Tour and DP World Tour move on this week.

After Sunday’s incredible finish at TPC Sawgrass, we move on with more betting tips on this week’s four events in the golf world.

Last week, we chose three golfers who finished in the top five at The Players Championship.

World No 1 Scottie Scheffler took the title, making history by becoming the first player to go back-to-back at the tournament. Wyndham Clark and Si Woo Kim both placed to make it a great week if you backed our tips!

This week, the PGA Tour rounds out its Florida Swing with the Valspar Championship, while the DP World Tour goes back east for the Porsche Singapore Classic.

Who will win? Matt Coles takes a look at this week’s action… And don’t forget to scroll all the way to the bottom for a great sign-up offer from Bet365!

Valspar Championship golf betting tips and preview

Venue: Copperhead Course at Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club, Tampa Bay, Florida, United States

Course stats: Par 71, 7,340 yards
Defending champion: Taylor Moore (-10)

Sam Burns @ 12/1 with bet365

Winner in 2021, winner in 2022, 6th in 2023. Sam Burns loves the Valspar Championship, and why would you bet against him winning it again this week? He is 12/1 and the joint-second favourite in Monday’s odds.

He did finish The Players Championship by going 6-over through his final five holes (thanks to doubles on 14, 17 and 18). However, a Saturday 65 will have given him confidence to take into a week on the calendar he clearly enjoys.

Christiaan Bezuidenhout @ 50/1 with bet365

Christiaan Bezuidenhout golf betting tips

Since the starts of the 2024 DP World Tour season in November, South Africa’s Christiaan Bezuidenhout has six top-20 finishes in 12 appearances across both the DP World Tour and PGA Tour.

Those included a 3rd place finish at the Alfred Dunhill Championship, and a runner-up finish behind amateur Nick Dunlap at the American Express. He also finished T13 at TPC Sawgrass after rounds of 69-70-68-70. The South African is 50/1 to claim a maiden PGA Tour title in Florida this week.

Xander Schauffele is the favourite for victory at the Valspar Championship at 9/1.

What else is going on in the world of golf this week?

Away from the PGA Tour, there are three other events on the sport’s major tours this week.

The DP World Tour moves back east for the Porsche Singapore Classic. The Fir Hills Seri Pak Championship is the LPGA Tour offering, taking place in Palos Verdes Estates, California. The Champions Tour hosts the Hoag Classic at Newport Beach Country Club, also in California.

China’s Ruoning Yin was the victor of the Seri Pak in 2023, while South African Ernie Els will look to defend his crown at Newport Beach. Another South African, in Ockie Strydom, was the victor in Singapore last time round.

Who will take victory at these tournaments? Check out our picks for success below…

Shane Lowry @ 10/1 with bet365

Shane Lowry golf betting tips

Admittedly, Shane Lowry was the only one of my four picks for The Players Championship that did not come in. However, the Irishman has been in incredible form, including a Sunday 66 at TPC Sawgrass.

Lowry played in the final group in the two events before that – the Cognizant Classic in the Palm Beaches and the Arnold Palmer Invitational – and this could well be the week he final gets back in the winners’ circle.

Rikuya Hoshino @ 50/1 with bet365

Japan’s Rikuya Hoshino has had a breakout season on the DP World Tour already, and we are only in March!

He was runner-up at both the Fortinet Australian PGA Championship and the ISPS Handa Australian Open before Christmas, before getting a maiden DP World Tour win at the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters last month. The Japanese star is 50/1 to win for a second time come Sunday.

Ruoning Yin @ 30/1 to win the Fir Hills Seri Pak Championship with bet365

Now, Ruoning Yin has certainly not been in tournament-winning form in recent weeks. However, as the defending champion, and the World No 4, being able to bet on the Chinese star at 30/1 is incredible. She knows how to win and how to contend, and that form comes back on the course that she won at in 2023.

Ruoning Yin

Steve Stricker @ 11/2 to win the Hoag Classic with bet365

Whenever Steve Stricker is in the field, it is difficult to bet against him. He won three Senior Majors in 2023 and has been at the summit of the Official Senior World Golf Rankings for more than a year now. So I’m not. He is 11/2 and the second favourite to win in California this week.

Mention a European country, and Matt will tell you which resorts make the National Club Golfer Top 100s: European Resorts list. He might even throw in who designed the golf course and how many rooms the hotel has got at each one…

Matt got into the game of golf from a young age, following his old man to the local golf club. He fell for the sport, and now can’t seem to go a day without thinking about how to improve his game (Thanks Dad!). Matt has been a member of Howley Hall GC in Leeds since 2020, and is just about managing to maintain a single-figure handicap. He likes to remind people that he once broke 75, but won’t tell people that it was on a shortened course during the winter.

He moved to Leeds after graduating from the University of Central Lancashire with a First Class Honours degree in Sports Journalism. Matt joined NCG after almost five years travelling the world with the Professional Squash Association, working on events in all four corners of the globe.

Matt currently plays a Cobra King LTDx driver and RadSpeed 3-wood. TaylorMade monopolise the rest of his bag, with a SIM UDI, M5 irons and both Milled Grind and HI-TOE wedges, along with a Monza Redline putter. He uses a Vice Pro Plus golf ball, because he’s a bit different…

Away from golf, Matt is a Manchester United fan, and a keen runner, having ran the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon (his first and possibly last), in May 2023.
